In general there only supply two types of electrical supply for the hot tubs we supply, one is the plug and play technology, which uses either an existing 13 Amp socket in your home, the supply lead is equipped with a built in RCD to give you the protection needed, your hot tub must be properly earthed or grounded, your electrician can give you all the technical advice you need for this type of installation.

The larger and more powerful hot tubs require a hard wired connection to your homes electrical supply which would also need an RCD protected circuit, generally this type of connection also has a rotary isolator which is IP rated ( ingress protection rating ), this shows that the isolator is waterproof basically, the isolator allows for the safe servicing of the hot tub without the risk of electrocution, this hard wired connection must be completed by a registered, qualified and competent person or company.
